Chloe & Matthew
Chloe & Matthew’s wedding day was a perfect balance of traditional with a modern and sleek twist. They celebrated with all of their closest family and friends over a glorious weekend of sunshine at Raemoir House, Banchory. Their weekend consisted of pre-wedding celebrations on the Friday, wedding ceremony and reception on Saturday and a relaxed BBQ with outdoor games on the Sunday. They married in the hotel Marquee, which acted like a blank canvas for Chloe’s bridal vision to come to life with the help of her handpicked vendors.

Describe you and your guy?
We are very silly, very annoying and we love to make each other laugh. We have been through all the highs and lows together and know that we are each other’s steady hand waiting for the storm to pass.
How did you meet?
We were friends of friends, then on Halloween night 2013, my cousin texted him to say I fancied him, and we’ve not looked back since. We had our first date on bonfire night and were “facebook official” by the 15th of November.
How did you know he was the one?
I got scared the day after our first kiss that he could be the one and that he wouldn’t like me back! For some reason the fear made me say “I’d think about it” when he asked me on a first date! So, I don’t think there was a day or moment that made me realize that I loved him, I just did! I’ve always loved him just for being him.
What is your regular street style?
I LOVE PINK! I love to wear pink I love to be in our pink shop, but our home is more focused on black & neutral tones. I’m normally running around like a headless chicken, so we wanted to create a calming environment to come home and cozy up to at night.
What is your bridal style?
Although I love pink & black, I wanted to keep our wedding vibe very modern, bright and white, with a touch of gold so that the styling of the day remained timeless.
Describe your wedding – any inspiration or themes you were drawn to when planning?
FRESH, MODERN & CLEAN LINES. I really loved the idea of having a main focus on some acrylic bespoke signage with white florals for behind where we stood to get married (that could also be moved to behind our top table) and having lower florals for my aisle so that I could see all my lovely guests throughout the ceremony. Once I’d seen similar clear acrylic plinths filled with orchids I fell in love & felt like it secured my wedding style. Our florist then took it to another level and moved the acrylic plinths from the aisle and used them as legs to our top table, a mind-blowing design, I know! Aside from design, we wanted our day to be very relaxed for us and our friends and family, we just really wanted to enjoy being surrounded by all our favourite people.
Fave thing about your day?
Ahhhh too many! I can give you my top three:
1. Spending the morning with my best girlies and seeing my precious nieces in their flower girl dresses.
2. Seeing Matthew as I walked down the aisle, and then the sweet and quiet moment we shared together after our ceremony.
3. I absolutely loved dancing the night away with my groovy af guests!
Any surprises?
I was surprised at how smoothly everything actually went! We are never too far from a disaster, so I had prepped myself for a proper mare to happen, but I think that was a combination so 2 things, picking trusted and super talented suppliers & allowing myself to enjoy the process of planning and my wedding day/weekend surrounded by my love ones.
What does marriage mean to you?
We have been together near 9 years now, so I think we’re pretty sure we like each other (I mean, I hope so!) but to me, marriage is giving each other our best self’s forever, til death do us part…(and a little bit longer).
What’s one piece of advice you could give to future brides?
Pre wedding advice—Allow yourself to enjoy it all, each appointment, each day out with your bridal party (you have to milk these!), all the hen party’s and excitement on the build up to the big day!
On the day advice—Trust in your suppliers (they know what they’re doing) and just enjoy every piece of the day, everyone is there to celebrate with you both, just live in the moment!
Life post wedding-means….
Snuggled cozy nights with the fire on and lots of snacks! And more time to do some more home renovations!
